Notes:
  1. Sirius includes programs created by Dr. Hans Bittner, based upon his research at the University of Essen. Proteus includes updated versions of those, plus many of the highly acclaimed programs from the MindLab series of machines. In addition, all Proteus programs are stored in "flash" memory, so you can replace any or all of them as you see fit--a total of 2,000 segments altogether.
  2. Just download the newest programs and features from your PC. You will never need to buy a new mind machine!
  3. This program is different every time you run it.
  4. You can set your own light and sound pulse rate in real time.
  5. The liteframe color is the color of the flashing LEDs. The standard color is the color typically shipped with the unit.
  6. Proteus includes a serial connect cable with a DB9 connector so you can use any Windows 98+ PC to create, edit, form libraries and download them into Proteus.
  7. Binaural beats are produced by playing two sine waves at slightly different frequencies in stereo headphones--an additional entrainment feature.
  8. AudioStrobe® is a technique that embeds light control signals on compact discs.
  9. ColorPulsetm converts the beat of music into pulsing light patterns, while MicroPulse does the same thing with the built-in Sirius microphone. Pulse to the rhythm of a conversation - or the music on the radio.
  10. BioConnecttm allows such parameters as pulse rate, color brightness, binaural beat frequency, etc. to be controlled via biofeedback (such as ThoughtStream). A powerful way to experience light and sound!
  11. The range of light/sound pulse rates available.
  12. The Proteus, Sirius, and Galaxy all have a 4 digit display that gives you information about your session - frequency, mode, and program depending upon what display mode you are in.
  13. Square and sine wave purity is a measurement of how closely the machine's wave generator comes to creating a perfect square or sine wave - as a percentage of a true square or sine wave. The higher the percentage, the cleaner and purer the waves. Square waves equate to how explosive and sharp the lights appear. Perception of distinct lines, waves, and colors are affected by the purity of the square waves generated by the machine. The tone of the sound is affected by the purity of the sine waves generated by the machine.
  14. Sharp frequency changes is demonstrated by sudden changes from one frequency to another several hertz apart. For example, the Voyager Mind's Eye has several programs in which the frequency changes from low frequency (1-3 hz) to a higher frequency (8-13 hz) in 1 milisecond (that is 1 thousandth of a second). The Proteus makes the same frequency change in about 3 seconds. In real experience that equates to the difference between an interesting display and an explosive display.
  15. Soft changes refers to the ability of the machine to slowly ramp up to frequencies rather than suddenly displaying them. To the wearer, this would appear as a soft fade in/out. All the machines offered by 1derworks.com have this capacity.
  16. Rechargeable batteries come in the Voyager Mind's Eye and Nova Pro 100. All other models use AA batteries.
  17. An AC Adapter comes with the Voyager Mind's Eye and Nova Pro 100 for recharging their batteries.
  18. Ease of use is a subjective evaluation of how easy it was for a new user to get started with their first programmed session using the included instructions. No machine is easy to use without its accompanying manual. This evaluation also included how easy it was to quickly and easily select subsequent sessions or recall earlier sessions and apply them. Scale: 100 = super simple; 0 = impossible.
  19. We tested the various machines on several hundred people to get their responses to their experience with each machine to develop this "rating." It is not scientific and only relates to the experience of those people who have tried all five machines.
  20. Value refers to the following weights: Light-sound experience = 40% Price = 20% Features = 20% Ease of use = 20% You may weigh your priorities differently than ours. Our weights are based on the responses given us by those who had the opportunity to test each machine.
  21. Features rating - this is based on the total number of useful features offered by the machine. Features such as the Nova Pro AC adapter overcharging protection circuit were not included in this evaluation because those types of features did not substantially add to the light and sound experience. Features such as manual control modes, user defined modes, computer programmable modes, mic modes, and biofeedback interface modes were included. Rating is based on out-of-the-box and does not include future feature upgrades.
  22. Demo programs demonstrate the full capabilities of the machine, including rapid frequency changes and explosive effects - mind blowing light and sound. One such program on the Voyager Mind's Eye is called "UFOria", while another is called "4th of July".
